The transcripts of the trial of Charles Taylor, former President of Liberia. More…

When somebody is crazy that means you do not have your senses and all my senses were correct, but, at the time, if I had not behaved funny to look like somebody who didn't have his senses they wanted to instruct me to be a part of the attack on Guinea or Sierra Leone and I didn't want to be a part of that. So, when the war entered in Liberia I knew that Mr Taylor had a right to defend himself. When he called me and instructed me and gave me ammunition, and gave me Chief of Staff position, I fought, but I cannot be part of an attack on Guinea and Sierra Leone. That is why I said I was not feeling well. But every time he sends people to check on me at my house I will say I was not feeling well. My mother would always tell them that, "He is not well, he is not correct."
