Good morning. I will take appearances before I take up the issue about the open session. Mr Koumjian?
-
Good morning, your Honours. For the Prosecution this morning Alain Werner, Ruth Mary Hackler, Maja Dimitrova and myself Nicholas Koumjian.
-
Good morning, Madam President. Good morning, your Honours. Good morning, counsel opposite. Appearing for the Defence this morning is myself Morris Anyah.
-
Thank you, Mr Anyah. Now, Mr Koumjian, I note the witness is in the box and there is a screen.

Yes, your Honour. The Prosecution calls as the next witness TF1-579. This is a witness that has been granted protective measures in a decision of your Honours dated 22 May 2008. These include screening, image distortion and voice distortion. My understanding from the Court Officer is that the video booth is prepared to implement those measures. I would have, in order to protect the identity of the witness, a brief private session at the beginning. I anticipate one other private session being necessary, but that will be quite a bit later in the testimony.
-
22 May 2008. Just allow me to look at that, please.
-
We do have copies, if that would be of assistance.
-
That would be most helpful, Mr Koumjian, as I cannot find it in my pile.
-
Ms Dimitrova has prepared this.
-
Thank you for that, Mr Koumjian. I note the decision. It's quite clear to my mind. What language will the witness speak?
-
Your Honours, the witness will be speaking in Liberian English.
-
Thank you. Have we the Liberian English interpreters in position, please, Mr Interpreter?
-
Yes, your Honour.
-
Very good. Please proceed, Madam Court Officer, to swear in the witness.
